Kat Gonso (she/her) is a Boston-based writer and professor of the practice in English at Boston College. She also teaches graduate classes at Emerson College and at GrubStreet, one of the nation’s leading nonprofit creative writing centers.

Her story “Love Spell” was nominated by New Flash Fiction Review for the 2026 Best Microfiction Series.

Her short prose has been widely published and won numerous awards, including The Southeast Review’s World’s Best Short-Short Story Contest. She earned her M.F.A. from Emerson College.

Kat is grateful to be doing the work she loves: writing and co-creating knowledge with students.
